Call for Entries: The Nature of Home

Submitting your design is a Multi-Part Process!

1) Download and Print the Worksheet and Entry Forms!

2) Draw! Think of what “home” means to you, personally. Invent your own symbols if needed. We are looking for your honest, true-to-yourself, content. Entries will reflect a variety of skills and ages, so no judgement here! This is not a contest.

3) Photograph your art. Please make sure you draw with black ink, in focus, with good lighting.

4) Write! The worksheet has places for you to work it all out before submitting online. The “poem” does not need to rhyme. Remember, 54 words max! If you want to write in a different language, that’s fine, too, as long as we can translate it.

Once you have all that worked out….

4) Enter your name, poem, and other information in the form below so we can keep in touch with you as we progress with this project. We want to let you know how your design is being incorporated into the mural.

5) Upload or email your design(s). After submitting your writing, you will be re-directed to a page with instructions on how to submit your art.

Troy University is calling for images that reflect individuals’ interpretation of the idea of “the nature home.”
We are looking for designs and writing.
There is no cost to submit designs.

Submitted designs will be translated and printed, painted or embossed onto ceramic tiles to be installed on the exterior of Troy University’s International Arts Center facing the Janice Hawkins Cultural Arts Park. We plan to publish the designs in print and online so that visitors can better understand the varying interpretations of “home” in the eyes of artists of all ages and abilities on an international level.
