WRITE - Tell us in words: what your image of home means to you and how you define your sense of “being home.”

What you feel when you feel at home? How does comfort and safety (or lack thereof) in your home affect you? What do you value about home wherever you find it? What do you need to have in a place (physically or emotionally) that you might call home?
Look inside and outside.
Speak your own truth.

Getting started with your writing…

When we ask you to write a “poem,” this may seem like a scary thought! But here’s a way to make it easy.

First, think about home and nature and all the ideas we have already discussed.
Sit down and write up to 54 words that capture your thoughts, feelings, and perceptions. You could write complete sentences or just random words.

Eventually put the words into an order that makes sense to you, subtracting or adding words as you shift your thoughts. Now count your words. You poem must have no more than 54 words.

If you have fewer than 54 words, then go for 33 words, or 20 words, or 12. That way you will have the correct number of words for your lines.
Finally, put them in “Fibonacci” order.
In words per line, that would be: 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21.
